Step Two: Choose comfort over design. Of course I am not telling you that it is okay to go out in your pajamas or go out dressed like you’re at home. What I’m saying is that it is better to wear something that you will feel comfortable in even if you have to wear it the whole day than if you wear something that looks very nice but it irritates you in the long run because it makes you feel too hot or too cold.

I bet everybody would agree that corporate or business outfits are not that comfortable as your casual attire, but you do not have any option as that is the dress code ordered by your company. However, there are a lot of comfy shoes and suits available, even corporate dresses for women.

Again, always match your clothes with the event you are going to. Remember Bridget Jones going to a socialite party with her playboy costume? ( I know, I know, this movie is an old one but eh who doesn’t like this flick?) You wouldn’t like to be the laughing-stock of everybody, would you?

Step Three: Learn how to mix and match. The clothes you already have will definitely look good when you pair it with some other item in your wardrobe. You don’t need to buy a new shirt that goes with a new pair of pants every time, that will be very costly and it will take up a lot of space which is very counterproductive to what you are trying to achieve. You don’t have to own every colors of a single item just to match it with the color of your shoes or accessories.

You have to remember that for the basic clothes, stick with neutral colors like black, white, gray, brown and blue. These colors can be match with anything unlike bright colors such as orange, pink or green.

Step Four: Buy clothes that you can use for different events. There are a lot of clothes that can be used either for casual wear or semi-formal events. Take a collared shirt for example, you can pair those with shorts and you’re good to go or if you’re looking for a more formal look pair them with slacks. Again doing this will save you a lot of money and a lot of space in your closet.

Step Five: Know where to get fashion advice. If you really care about what you look like and what you wear then it is probably a good idea to look for some advice. However not everything is good advice. Some people would advise you to buy certain brands that are considered popular and of high quality but in truth it is just the brand that makes it good. That will do you no good. If you’re looking for advice just look for things like what colors match, what kinds of material are comfortable, where you can get the best deal for clothes, shoes, accessories, etc.

I’m not telling you to be cheap, rather be affordable. In the long run, it only does not save you money but it will help you minimize swiping your card to buy expensive clothes. Dress to impress doesn’t always mean designer clothes, always be wise in spending your hard-earned money. I know, I’m that repetitive. Sorry.

Homemade Deodorant With Baking Soda

Several natural ingredients you could use in creating your own homemade deodorant and antiperspirant; some are a little bit expensive and others are just sitting in your cupboard. Baking soda is a commonly use product in your kitchen and it does not only in batter mix or baking pastries but it can also be used in your own deodorant recipes.

Baking soda is a substitute product that can prevent continuous sweating in the armpit area. It can surprisingly absorb moisture making it as one of the many popular herbal with antiperspirant property.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of baking soda
  • ¼ cup of arrowroot powder or cornstarch
  • 5 tablespoonfuls of coconut oil
  • Your preferred essential oil

Procedure

  1. Since we are talking about homemade recipes, it would be better if we are going to do it in an eco-friendly manner. Look for a canister or container that you are not already using. For women, this is going to be easy as you have many cosmetic containers that you do not use anymore. Wash the container and clean all the residues inside it. Dry it out with the use of a towel.
  1. Pour ¼ cup of your baking soda in the container. There is no specific baking soda that needs to be utilized in this recipe. Any brand of baking soda will do.
  1. After pouring the baking soda, add the ¼ cup of arrowroot powder. If arrowroot powder is not available, you can substitute it with cornstarch. Arrowroot is more beneficial than cornstarch because it feels more natural on your skin. Nevertheless, if you forgot to purchase arrowroot powder before making this recipe, you can always use cornstarch instead. Cornstarch can be either talc-free or not. These powders lessen the amount of sweat produced. In addition, cornstarch and arrowroot powder tames the irritating effect of baking soda.
  1. Mix the baking soda and the arrowroot powder or cornstarch very well.
  1. After mixing both ingredients, pour the five tablespoonfuls of coconut oil. Sometimes coconut oil hardens and when it does, heat it up in low fire until it is completely melted. Cool it down for two to three minutes and pour it in the mixture. Do not pour it abruptly after heating it because it will cook the baking soda or cornstarch.
  1. Lastly, pour your desired essential oil. This last step is optional but if you would like to add an essential oil, try using tea tree oil as it has an antibacterial effect. So to speak, you are not only creating an antiperspirant deodorant but it also reduces bacterial growth. You can make use of two or four essential oils, depending on your choice. However, you need to research if it is fine to mix these oils and check on the label for concentration value. The number of drops is based on the concentration rate of an essential oil.
  1. Mix all the ingredients evenly. Once you are done, close the lid and start using it after taking a bath.

It is indeed true that salt crystals are a no-no but it really depends on how you make use of them. These crystals are highly suggested for individuals who do not sweat a lot. To make the salt crystals work; mix it with a homemade talc powder or with another homemade deodorant.

In making your own recipes, stick with simple all-natural ingredients. Some of it can be found at your own home and others are commonly offered at your local stores. Not all of these ingredients are affordable especially if we are talking about essential oils. So always, make use of what is readily available on your end.

If you would like to use alcohol as a base ingredient of your homemade deodorant, DO NOT use Isopropyl alcohol because it is scientifically proven that it has adverse effects on your skin. Instead, try using high-proofed Ethyl alcohol.

Always check on the label of the organic ingredients you are going to use. You have to identify if the ingredient is highly concentrated or not, as it might hurt or sting when you are going to use it, specifically if your armpits are newly shaved.

Procrastinate is defined as delaying or postponing something. Most of the time, people I know procrastinate their task. Some experts say that it is a “delaying tactic or strategy of individuals.” They delay their task to avoid getting another task from their superiors or whatnot.

People also procrastinate to avoid risk. Psychologists say that our brain likes it when we do not take risks as it doesn’t make us defenseless and out in the open. Believe it or not, other slack off because they fear success. Success means change, something different from the usual – a person’s growth. When a person is growing, responsibilities add up and obstacles are more complicated.

If you ask people, procrastination is better because it feels good and it is a lot fun. But it is just a temporary and immediate relief. Why not set yourself for a long-term happiness? So instead of procrastinating, get up and get started! How? By following these simple tips:

Create a Dreamboard

Think of the things you’re dreaming of. It doesn’t matter if it’s a house, a car, a partner – Your choice. Usually, I suggest making a list but it’s too dull to motivate you and act now. Isn’t it nice to picture your dreams in a colorful and presentable way? So, after thinking of your dreams, gather some old magazines, print outs, pictures, pens, glue sticks and a board.

Represent each dream with a picture and start designing your “dreamboard.” Once you’re finished, hang it on your bedroom wall. Make sure to hang it where you can easily see it every day.

This is a technique to get you motivated.

Pamper Yourself

Since you are self-medicating from procrastination, it’s not bad to pamper and reward yourself every time you achieve something. Gather the things that need to be done, the moment you finish one task or goal, check it and reward yourself for doing a great job. Rewards can be big or small, depends on how important the task is and of course, your budget.

The point here is, you need to put that fear of risking to good use.

Embrace the Most Permanent Thing in the World
