Simple yet Innovative Ways to De-clutter Your Abode

Minimal home decors and neutral colors are more appealing to the eyes rather than those homes with a lot of shelves, chairs or home accessories as it eat up a lot of space and it becomes suffocating. When you check out magazines about home styling, you’ll realize that simple styles and designs are timeless and applying this to your own home will help you out in de-cluttering your life.

People think that owning too many stuff is beneficial but the sad true is – it is NOT. There are more benefits of owning less stuff such as: fewer things to clean, you can find or search for your stuff easily and you can save a lot of money. To a few number of individuals, de-cluttering your own personal space is easier, however, when you are a self-confessed “hoarder,” this is going to be a tough time for you.

Hoarder is a person who loves to amass different things, regardless if it has a sentimental value or not, and has a difficult time in throwing them away. I will have to agree with you that this section will be a tough one for you. But no need to worry as the steps mentioned here will be in general. You do not have to decide abruptly, just take your time to read and understand the reasons behind you need to throw away other things and why you need to keep some.

You may ask yourself why? The answer is just simple. In de-cluttering your life as a whole, you should start with yourself and with your own personal space – that is, your home. Your home is a reflection of yourself; it justifies your personality and how you deal with things. So below are the 10 steps you need to consider:

Step One: The five rock-hard-minute rule. You need to take 5 minutes of your time in picturing the space you want to de-clutter first. This will lend a hand in judging what needs to be thrown away and what needs to stay. It also organizes your thoughts and coming up with a plan in a breeze.

Step Two: 365-Day Item Giving. This step is actually very insightful for hoarders. You have to remember that you do not have to be in a rush towards the way you value things; take one step at a time and do this challenge. In one year, each day you have to pick an item you need to give away; it could be as huge as an extra chair you do not use or small as a candle piece. It may seem a long process for non-hoarders but if you’ll look into a bigger perspective it has a massive transformation in return.

Step Three: One black trash bag could make a difference. Just get a trash bag and fill it with things or stuff you most likely do not need. If some of the things you put inside the trash bag can be of use, then donate it to charitable institutions. You do not only clear your own abode but you could help others at the same time.

Step Four: The ever famous Closet Hanger Try-Out. This is done by most people who single-handedly took the challenge of de-cluttering their life; but it was Oprah Winfrey who made it famous. To locate your clothing pieces which needs to be cleared out, you must hang each and every clothes you possessed (you need a lot of hangers for this trick).

Make sure you hang them in a reverse way and then after wearing each clothe, you have to return them inside your closet with hanger facing right or correct way. In the course of five to six months, you will have a clearer view of which wardrobe pieces you can thrust aside without any trouble. The closet hanger try-out or experiment could also be useful other cluttered areas around the house such as playroom, tools, linens and so forth.

Step Five: Jot a list. If the five rock-hard-minute challenge will not do the trick, then you can jot down a list of areas inside the house that need to be de-cluttered first. It would be better if you’ll start with the easiest area to de-clutter as those difficult areas will take a lot of time to organize. It may sound dull and boring in just doing a list, so here’s what you need to do next.

After finishing one area, you need to stop for the day. Look at the area you finished and the areas which are not and spot the difference. You’ll feel relax and more comfortable looking at a well-organized and simplified area than a messy one.

Step Six: The 12/12/12 Dare. You have to pick 12 things that you need to throw away, another set of 12 things you are willing to donate and a last set of 12 things you need to return to their right owner or find an owner. Imagine, in doing this challenge, it will fix 36 items in one go.

Step Seven: Put up a garage sale. You see not all items you could find inside your house are trash, sometimes, you just have too many stuff that you tend to forget you have those all along. So when you start all the steps mentioned above and if you are on a tight budget, you could put up a mini garage sale to sell the collected items.

If you do not have an extra time to put up a garage sale, then no need to worry. There are store or depot owners who buy second-hand items for cheaper price. Don’t dare to complain if they buy your items half of the original price, you should be grateful instead.

Step Eight: Play with numbers. Some people suggest practicing the Project333, where you only allowed wearing 33 wardrobe pieces in the span of 3 months. With this project, it helped them choose the clothing items they do not really need. You may also follow the same project but don’t just settle with that. Be creative and invent a project of your own and practice it in your everyday living. The vital point of playing with numbers is to face up with life and live with fewer things; and view your learnings from the challenge.

Step Nine: Be creative and imaginative. Humans are sentimental in nature. We value the things we have especially those items that were given as a gift or reward by the people who are closed to our hearts. Most hoarders feel the same way but in an excessive manner. Therefore, if giving or throwing away any item is a hurdle for you, then be creative and imaginative on how you need to live with less material things in life.

For example, you value all the shoe boxes even if the actual shoes are already worn out, then create them as storage boxes by designing the box. There are a lot of websites which could help you out with DIY (Do it Yourself) stuff. Check out Pinterest or Facebook pages to get some ideas of your own.

Step Ten: Four-box Approach. This is the most common and generic method you could use in your expedition to minimalism. All you need is to get four boxes and label them as: junk, give away, stay and reposition. Put all as in everything in the boxes (where you think it belongs); this may take few hours or even days or weeks, however, it will still help you in de-cluttering your home.

You could use two or three steps at the same time; it is all up to you but remember that de-cluttering your own home is a big step in de-cluttering you whole life. 🙂 ❤

Who Cares About What You Wear

A lot of people believe that image is everything and that first impressions always last. How does one normally give a good first impression? By looking good and dressing up nicely. However that does not necessarily mean buying the latest fashion designs and designer brands. I will share to you five simple steps on what you should do about this.

dress.png

Step One: Know what you like and what looks good on you. I know, not everyone has an eye for fashion but “fashion” is very subjective. Don’t let others decide what looks good and what doesn’t. Just because your outfit for the day doesn’t cost a fortune doesn’t mean it doesn’t look good. Always remember the brand isn’t everything. Hermes and Armani will not change how people feel towards you. Regardless of what brand you are wearing, it always has to be the confidence that matters. This will save you a whole lot of trouble and money when it comes to choosing what to wear.

Step Two: Choose comfort over design. Of course I am not telling you that it is okay to go out in your pajamas or go out dressed like you’re at home. What I’m saying is that it is better to wear something that you will feel comfortable in even if you have to wear it the whole day than if you wear something that looks very nice but it irritates you in the long run because it makes you feel too hot or too cold.

I bet everybody would agree that corporate or business outfits are not that comfortable as your casual attire, but you do not have any option as that is the dress code ordered by your company. However, there are a lot of comfy shoes and suits available, even corporate dresses for women.

Again, always match your clothes with the event you are going to. Remember Bridget Jones going to a socialite party with her playboy costume? ( I know, I know, this movie is an old one but eh who doesn’t like this flick?) You wouldn’t like to be the laughing-stock of everybody, would you?

Step Three: Learn how to mix and match. The clothes you already have will definitely look good when you pair it with some other item in your wardrobe. You don’t need to buy a new shirt that goes with a new pair of pants every time, that will be very costly and it will take up a lot of space which is very counterproductive to what you are trying to achieve. You don’t have to own every colors of a single item just to match it with the color of your shoes or accessories.

You have to remember that for the basic clothes, stick with neutral colors like black, white, gray, brown and blue. These colors can be match with anything unlike bright colors such as orange, pink or green.

Step Four: Buy clothes that you can use for different events. There are a lot of clothes that can be used either for casual wear or semi-formal events. Take a collared shirt for example, you can pair those with shorts and you’re good to go or if you’re looking for a more formal look pair them with slacks. Again doing this will save you a lot of money and a lot of space in your closet.

Step Five: Know where to get fashion advice. If you really care about what you look like and what you wear then it is probably a good idea to look for some advice. However not everything is good advice. Some people would advise you to buy certain brands that are considered popular and of high quality but in truth it is just the brand that makes it good. That will do you no good. If you’re looking for advice just look for things like what colors match, what kinds of material are comfortable, where you can get the best deal for clothes, shoes, accessories, etc.

I’m not telling you to be cheap, rather be affordable. In the long run, it only does not save you money but it will help you minimize swiping your card to buy expensive clothes. Dress to impress doesn’t always mean designer clothes, always be wise in spending your hard-earned money. I know, I’m that repetitive. Sorry.

De-cluttering 101: Avoid Media

You might be wondering what this has to do with living a simple and de-cluttered life. Well I’m telling you it has a lot to do with it. Everyone knows that capitalism is the ruling ideology in this world and that every establishment/company out there is only concerned about getting your money and not satisfying your needs. Media makes your life cluttered by making you want things buy things that you don’t really need and that you’ll end up forgetting about once there’s a new thing that they’re trying to get you to buy. This literally and metaphorically makes your life messier! So how do we deal with this?

media.png

Step One: Watch less TV. Of course it is still important to watch TV for certain things such as watching the news and once in a while watching some shows to relax. However one of the biggest ways of advertising is through TV commercials. You might think that these commercials are harmless and they don’t affect you in any way but don’t think too high of yourself. Companies spend millions even billions on advertising, trying to find the perfect pitch that will hook television viewers into wanting, into buying their products. You can’t change the channel every time a commercial goes on that would be too much effort. The simplest thing to do is to just watch less. Besides it won’t do you any harm to go out and do something else.

Step Two: Don’t use social media networking sites and apps. Yes using Facebook is an easy way to connect to people. Yes, checking twitter is an easy way to find out what other people are doing. Yes, checking out Instagram is an easy way to check out the recent adventures of people. But what’s wrong with just texting or calling? If you want to live a simple and de-cluttered life, stop concerning yourself with the lives of other people. You have your family and your closest friends that’s enough to get you through life and not feel so stressed about it all the time.

Think about it, what would you normally see on these social networking sites? Someone post about how they had an amazing vacation in some faraway place that you didn’t even know existed, you see someone tweet about their feelings and what song they’re emoting too, you’d see someone post a picture of what they had for breakfast or lunch or dinner. You will see a lot of things that have no use in your life but may affect your priorities and decisions. Face it; we all get a little bit jealous sometimes.

Step Three: Get yourself a hobby. If you don’t know what to replace social media with try to find a hobby. It could be anything ranging from sports, to collecting things, to building things etc. Having a hobby is a great way to help you focus and maintain balance in your life. Instead of being unproductive and doing useless things during your spare time doing something you love will give more relaxation and will make your life simpler and de-cluttered.

Personally, I find that blogging, cooking and running really help me focus and keep my life in order. They are great ways to release stress and frustrations from other things in my life. Other than that I really enjoy doing these things.

Step Four: Be more productive. Instead of bumming around in front of the computer or the television look for something to do that will de-clutter your life. One way of literally de-cluttering your life is cleaning your living space. Having clean surroundings fosters good thoughts and good ideas. It also makes you healthier so it is actually a necessity. De-cluttering your home is also simplifying your life.

Step Five: Stop idolizing other people. Envy is a very powerful thing. It can lead people to doing the most horrible of things. It certainly doesn’t do anyone any good whatsoever. So live your own life. Imagine the simple life that you’ve always wanted, stop dreaming about the lives of celebrities and stars because that is the complete opposite of what you want to achieve. Envy is also intertwined with jealousy and when these two are put together, insecurities will build up. Insecurities will just pull you back and will affect how you interact with other people. So instead of having day dreams how to be rich and famous and spend half of your day wishful thinking, snap back to reality. Remember simple is better!

BE SMART: Use your money wisely

I will start off with this because this will be the hardest thing to do. Anyone with a little or a lot of extra money would definitely have a great time splurging once in a while. Admit it you do too. It’s a simple fact that we human beings want more and are willing to go through a lot just to get what we want. However, your goal is not to get more but to have less; less in the sense that you remove the things that are unnecessary to daily life.

Step One: Budget or plan out your spending. This is a very basic tip, budgeting will make your life so much easier and simpler because you know what you need to buy and how much you have to spend for it. Every time you go to the grocery, make lists! Every time you go out with friends or on a date set a limit on how much you can spend. Bring only the amount you set and a little bit of extra in case of emergencies. Speaking from personal experience ever since I started budgeting my money I found life easier and simpler in the way that I don’t get stressed on why I keep losing money, why I don’t have enough to do the things I need, etc.

Step Two: Schedule your spending. This step is pretty much the same as the first but this time you’re going to list down the dates when you really have to spend. Of course there are times when you can’t predict when you have to spend but most of the necessary things in your life can be foreseen. For example, take note of when you have to do grocery shopping. Having a schedule for doing groceries will have a big impact in the long run. You will always have enough food and other necessities over a certain period of time and by the time you run out you’re prepared to replenish your supplies.

Another thing to take note of is when to pay your bills. Bills bills bills nobody likes paying bills! But you have no choice but to pay bills. To help reduce the stress you get from your monthly dues it is best to prepare ahead of time. Estimate how much you have to pay, when you have to pay and once you’ve done that, put that money aside so when the time comes you can pay your bills minus the stress.

Step Three: Save your money for important things. A friend once told me, the secret to saving is knowing how much you want to save. It sounds simple yes? Well it’s not that simple really. Normally, people compute for their savings by deducting their expenses from their earnings or profits [Earnings – Expenses = Savings]. However the secret to saving is deducting your savings from you earnings [Earnings – Savings = expenses]. By knowing how much you want to put aside for your savings whatever amount is left after deducting will be the limit on how your expenses should be. Again, it sounds simple doesn’t it? But in reality it takes a lot of discipline to be able to accomplish this.

Step Four: Find something to do with your extra money. This step is very much related to the third step. When you save money make sure that it has a purpose. You can save for many different things such as your future house, future family, your children’s college fund, vacations, emergencies and many more. Saving extra money for no reason is useless. You’ll end up spending it on unnecessary things in the end. If you really can’t think of a purpose for it in your life then put it to good use somehow.

One way is by investing it. You should treat extra money as a luxury and you should use it properly. Another way to use it is by donating it to charities and foundations. If you can’t find use for all that extra money then why not just use it for the good of other people. Plus, there’s an added bonus of making you feel better inside!

Step Five: Don’t be cheap. I did just tell you to budget, to plan and to save but that don’t mean that you should go cheap whenever you really do have to spend. Why is that? First of all, buying cheap goods will only hurt your wallet in the long run. Cheap goods deteriorate and break down faster than quality goods so you’ll end up buying again and again as opposed to buying a quality good and keeping it for a long time.

Another effect of this is it adds more stress to your life. Cheap goods malfunction a lot and you and I both know that no one likes it when things don’t work the way they are supposed to. So the next time you buy something you need keep it simple but remember don’t be cheap!

What about you? What are the simple tips you do to spend money wisely? Drop a comment and lets help each other. 🙂 ❤

DIY: Essential Oils for Massages

Essential Oils are popular products used for aromatherapy as it does not only have physical benefits, they are also beneficial emotionally. You might want to stack every essential oil; however, essential oils are not cheap.

To help you narrow down your choices, I came up with a list of the most effective essential oils you can use to relax your body and mind. But before going into that, let me provide you the proper dilution of essential oils based by your age.

  • For ages 65 and up: 5 drops of an essential oil
  • For ages between 12 and 65: 10 drops of an essential oil
  • For ages between 6 and 12: 7 drops of an essential oil

Steps in creating your own massage oil

  1. Pick your carrier oil. Carrier oil is a base ingredient to any of the massage oils you can find. It is commonly in vegetable-based oil. Below are some examples of carrier oils:
    1. Jojoba Oil – a liquid wax which has healing components and can moisturize all type of skin. Since it is a non-nut oil, jojoba oil is recommended for sensitive skin.
    2. Almond Oil – carrier oil which is rich in vitamins A and E, and Essential Fatty Acids. It has a light odor and color which is practically beneficial for dry skin.
    3. Grape Seed Oil – it has a light odor and said to be one of the best carrier oil for penetration of your skin. It has a low percentage risk for skin allergies.
    4. Hazelnut Oil – this oil does not overwhelm the scent of your essential oil as it has no smell. Same with almond oil, it has great moisturizing properties.
    5. Apricot Kernel – it has a very light constancy and fragrance compared to Sweet Almond Oil. Professional therapists use this carrier oil for facial massages.
    6. Wheat-germ Oil – it is an anti-oxidant with large amount of Vitamin E. Together with its fatty acids, it is suitable for dry and mature skin type.

NOTE: always use 20ml of carrier oil in your own mixture.

  1. Choose you preferred Essential Oil. Some of the most best essential oils are:
    1. Lavender – it is very popular essential oil as it performs what your body requires to; thus, it is called the balancing oil. In purchasing lavender, make sure to purchase the true lavender not lavandin or any other types. Just the “plain” lavender.
    2. Sandal Wood – this is also popular due to its warm woody smell and said to cure anxiety and depression.
    3. Eucalyptus – it is not only known for its anti-bacterial agents but eucalyptus can also treat your sinus congestion.
    4. Bergamot – it is a photo-sensitizing essential oil, so make sure not to go out after using it in your massage session. Bergamot, like Sandal Wood, can alleviate you from anxiety and depression. To top it off, it is also used by therapist to clients’ suffering from addiction.
    5. Geranium – it is also called the balancing oil; and most women use this oil for menstrual and menopausal difficulties.
  1. Mix them. You may want to use these recipes to start your massage sleep over with friends.
    1. For a flowery girly scent: just mix 20ml of a carrier oil, 8 drops of jasmine and 10 drops each of geranium and rosewood essential oils.
    2. For a massage with a kick: 20ml of a carrier oil, 5-6 drops each of peppermint and black pepper essential oils, 8 drops of cinnamon essential oil and 14 drops of sandal wood essential oil.
    3. For a stimulating massage: 20ml of a carrier oil, 9 drops of jasmine essential oil and 14 drops of each rose and ylang-ylang essential oils.

I’m hoping this simple DIY using Essential Oils would help you in creating a better atmoshpere when performing a massage to your loved ones. Pick the Essential Oil which your body needs and what really suits your taste. If you have any suggestion, please drop a comment below. Thanks for sharing another Pinay Time with me, Lovelies! 🙂 ❤

Your Not-so-Ordinary Physical Fitness

physicalfitness.png

Providing beauty tips is not the only solution in modifying how you look; getting a healthy and toned body is also important. In this article, you will get to know some strange but effective physical fitness tips to help you boost your confidence.

Non-Parental Guidance Work Out

Most women today do work outs to simply appear pleasant in their undergarments. This is actually a social media effect, as most celebrities and prominent individuals post their images in their bikinis, tank tops and so on. To ordinary people, they would also like to gain those celeb bods; it may be a personal goal or social acceptance but looking good in your undergarments is kind of self-fulfilling. You gain confidence from it.

One of the so-called x-rated exercise programs available is the stripper-inspired pole dancing exercise. Most women are into it lately as it does not only help your bodies to become fit but it also increases your flexibility and body strength.

There are ongoing classes for pole dancing routine and you could enroll online or to your local gym. But if you are still embarrassed to go in class with other enrollees then you can watch videos through YouTube but make sure you have installed a pole for this program because it’s a must to have it.

You have to ensure you have the correct or proper clothing in doing this routine. Most of the time, you are required to wear a simple tight tank top and cycling shorts; and prepare yourself as for the first time classes, you’ll get some bruises.

Below are some of the basic pole-dancing moves that can help you start on your own:

  • The Front-hook Spin. Start walking frontward around your pole and inside arm must be holding tightly on your pole. Make sure to hook inside leg around the pole’s front and take the outside arm to your pole. Then the outside leg should be the final one to come in the position.
  • The Half and Full Turn. Make sure to use the pole for your own balance and axle 180 degrees onto the inside leg.
  • The Body Wave. Hold the pole then roll over the body employing your whole lower and upper parts of your body to produce a nice wave effect.
  • The Hip Circular Form. Make sure to stand up straight and lean back against your pole. You could either place your hands on top of your head or onto the hips and start rotating your pelvic area in a circular manner.
  • The Rabbit Slide. Stand straight and lean back against your pole; then rest those arms onto the thighs and begin to slide down bending your knees.

Flying Yoga or Aerial Suspension Routine

Yoga and Pilates are famous work out programs enjoyed by most women as it help maintain your muscle mass and meditate or relaxes your mind at the same time. Through the course of time, some health instructors created new ideas on how to make yoga and pilates more exciting and innovative. Thus, aerial or flying yoga is introduced. We are used in seeing mats and inflated balls being utilize during yoga or Pilates movements but with aerial yoga, you will be using a heavy-duty piece of cloth hanging into the ceiling. It would be advisable to enroll yourself to an aerial yoga class as you need assistance from a professional regarding the basic moves. And an ordinary hammock you see in your backyard should not be an alternative tool to use for such routine.

You must be aware that the proper clothes to wear are a long (not denim) sweat pants and a plain sleeved-shirt.

Other benefits of aerial yoga are as follows:

  • It re-aligns your spinal cord
  • Minimizes your body sores
  • It is said to be an anti-aging work out
  • Improvement with your cardiovascular system
  • It enhances your breathing
  • It also corrects your blood flow or circulation

Freestyle Cluster Workout Program

Freestyle cluster training program is a type of workout that uses new unique exercises depending on ways your bodies be in motion every day. The philosophy of this type of program engages the use of an amalgamation of 3-corpulent training factions to hone and challenge every single muscle in the human body. The training program makes use of a set of equipments and procedures such as pylo boxes, suspension training or BOSU balls.

A BOSU ball is training equipment which consists of a puffed up rubberized hemisphere connected to an unbending or firm platform. Some health enthusiasts call BOSU balls as the blue colored half-ball. Pylo boxes are basically used for pylometrics or in layman’s term, jump training. It is a type of exercise program that increases your speed and power.

Here is a basic combination routine:

  • First, you must do some stretching to warm up your muscles. Do this for 15 minutes.
  • For another 15 minutes, jump with your hands placed on your waist. After the first jump, bend over with one of your knee touching the floor and the other one is for support. Do this combination in a repetitive manner.
  • For the second 15-minute routine, make use of a BOSU ball, stand on it and balance yourself. You should not fall off from the BOSU ball, so make sure to use your lower body strength.
  • For the last set, do a simple body-weight squat for 15 minutes.

Sandbells: The revolutionary of dumbbells

Everybody knows that when you do simple workout programs or trainings, you are most likely required to use dumbbells. But in today’s innovation towards new exercise movements, health instructors introduced the use of sandbells. From the word itself, sandbells are used for body strength programs by using bags of ordinary sand.

You do not have to take it literally, when I said it is a bag of sand because sandbells are a bit more high-end; their gentleness only means they can be thrown, dropped and hopped on without the risk of damage. The use of sandbells can become accustomed to anyone who is willing to cut down those few extra pounds. Specific routines involving the use of sandbells last for 45 to 60 minutes of extensive exercise which aims to enhance your stamina and muscle strength. Do your regular basic exercises but instead of using your dumbbells, use the sandbells.

I’m pretty sure there are few innovations (in a weird way) when it comes to making physical fitness more fun, so Lovelies, if you are trying any “unique” routine, drop a comment and share it with us. Thanks for sharing Pinay Time with The Drunken Cheeks 🙂 ❤

Unusual Makeup Products and Its Benefits

weirdprods

For years a lot of invention and breakthroughs have been made and done in the beauty industry. You will be surprised by some of the measures and ways people will do in the name of beauty. Weird, bizarre, unusual even all out gross that you can’t even imagine putting them on your face or your skin. Here are some of the lists of those new, “weird” products:

  • Wrinkle cream made with placenta

According to the makers of this product, the wrinkle cream was made of bovine placentas that apparently slows down aging and helps in giving skin a moisturized look. There were some companies who made use of plant placentas and to some extent – human placentas. The idea behind the product is that the placentas give off nutrients that stimulate hormones and cell growth. However, the FDA or Food and Drug Administration immediately disapproved of the claims and banned the product in the US.

  • Collagen Injections

This procedure has been popularly used by many rich and famous people including celebrities. They are used to smooth out wrinkles, smile lines, frown lines and give a full lip appearance. Like Botox, which is also another procedure to look young, the ingredients present in this product are simply unique and bizarre. The two main sources of collagen may either be from bovine or yes, you guessed it, human. Manufacturers get their ingredients from aborted fetus, donated cadavers or placentas that’s why according to these manufacturers, the possibility of having an allergic reaction is minimal or non-existent at all.

  • Snake Venom Facial Creams

In search of other ingredients that would help people in looking beautiful, manufacturers came up with an innovation using the snake venom that is synthetically produced and, instead of being injected, can be applied on the face in a form of facial creams. They were meant to be less invasive and safer.

  • Vegan, Gluten free make up

One of the most sought-about and popular type of make up in the market nowadays. Manufacturers took it to the next level and took advantage of the wellness era. If you have the vegan diet, then there’s this vegan make up. Claimed to be 100% gluten-free, they are said to be best for people with sensitive, acne prone, allergic prone skin types. Manufacturer’s claimed that making the vegan makeup does not harm any animals and the only animal by-product that is used is beeswax. In some studies made, many users claimed that using this kind of makeup have series of great advantages and benefits. Many claimed that their skin can breathe, lightweight, easy to put on and reduces the appearance of blemishes or skin imperfections.

  • Facial treatment derived from Bird Poop

Derived from an old beauty secret that comes from the Japanese, guanine which is found on bird’s dripping specifically the nightingale is steadily breaking through the beauty industry. This is said to have a great bleaching effect and exfoliates the skin. In the early 18th century, Japanese geishas and kabuki dancers uses bird poop to remove their makeup and maintain a soft skin. However, you’ll be surprised that this is not cheap. According to some sources, this costs about $20 per ounce and a facial treatment costs almost $200. Not bad for a pooping bird.

  • Flavored Lip Balm

This is nothing new to anyone who has ever heard of having a flavored lip balm. The basic strawberry, cherry, grapes – you name the fruit and definitely there has already been a lip balm made out of it. However, you’ll find it really weird that most manufacturers will test the limits of their imagination. Nowadays, fruit flavored lip balms are not the only ones in the market. In the spirit of innovation they’ve come up with these most talked about lip balm flavors: French fries, Cheetos, pizza, kid’s cereals, bacon, Sriracha and even wasabi. How weird is that! And because of this, you’ll never look nor taste food like this again!

  • Hair Treatment made from Bull Semen

Well, what’s weirder than using semen as part of a beauty regimen? The Bull Semen treatment is becoming the most popular and talked about treatment in the UK that brings health and glow back to your hair. The treatment includes massaging the solution into the scalp. This solution is made of up of a plant root “katera” and the Angus bull’s semen. The ingredients as was claimed have high protein content that penetrates deeply into the hair roots and conditions the shaft of the hair. Because of its so-called “nourishment and hair revitalization”, bull semen treatment earned the title “Viagra for the Hair”. Very fitting right?

  • Snail Secretions

According to dermatologists, the snail slime has mucin extract, a complex ingredient that is filled with proteins, elastin and glycolic acid. It has a regenerative property that aids in making your skin moisturized. In some occasion, they are included in facials because they were believed to minimize skin pigmentation and scars. • Carmine from crushed beetles

The Cochineal beetles are wingless species of insects that are found mostly in Central and South America particularly Peru, Mexico and Chile. These bugs are being crushed because they produce carminic acid, when mixed with certain calcium salts produces a bright red substance called carmine. Carmine is a common ingredient being used in lipsticks, eye shadows and rouges. These dyes are becoming popular because of its organic feature and additive-free foods. Now, who would have thought that ingredients from the lipstick we use everyday contains crushed beetles?

  • The infant foreskin

Shockingly, this is the most bizarre and scary ingredient that you will ever find in a beauty product. Just imagine using a product on your skin with ingredients coming from a human infant? How weird can that be? However, this has been called the “fountain of youth” as claimed by some famous and influential persons who have been using products derived from infant foreskin. The infant foreskin as studies showed, can be used in making fibroblasts for many years. Fibroblasts on the other hand, are types of cells that play an important part in healing of wounds and are basic ingredients on other products of anti-aging.

So come to think of it, these products may be gross or weird but since most of the people nowadays are using and buying them, they may not be such a bad idea after all. Do you dare to try some of these products? Or have you heard of other weird products made? Mind to share it with me? Drop a comment. Thanks a lot for joining another Pinay Time with me. Happy weekend, Lovelies! 🙂 ❤
